Annual Education Report - Dillon
January 21, 2026
Dear Parents and Community Members:
We are pleased to present you with the Annual Education Report (AER), which provides key information on the 2024-25 educational progress for Gladys Dillon Elementary School. The AER addresses the complex reporting information required by federal and state laws. The school’s report contains information about accountability, student assessment, and teacher quality. If you have any questions about the AER, please contact Klaire Verbeke for assistance.
The AER is available for you to review electronically by visiting the following website: https://www.mischooldata.org/annual-education-report/?PageName:Accountability&_SchoolYear-Report%20Year:2025-26&_Entity-ISD%20Name%20(ISD%20Code):Genesee%20ISD%20(25)&_Entity-District%20Name%20(District%20Code):Carman-Ainsworth%20Community%20Schools%20(25080)&_Entity-School%20Name%20(School%20Code):Gladys%20Dillon%20Elementary%20School%20(01414)&, or you may review a copy in the main office at your child’s school.
For the 2025-26 school year, schools were identified based on previous years’ performance using definitions and labels as required in the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). A Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) school is one that had at least one underperforming student group in 2024-25. An Additional Targeted Support (ATS) school is one that had at least one student group performing at the same level as the lowest 5% of all schools in the state in 2021-22. A Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) school is one whose performance was in the lowest 5% of all schools in the state, had a graduation rate at or below 67%, failed to exit CSI status in 2024-25, or failed to exit ATS status in 2021-22. Some schools are not identified with any of these labels. In these cases, no status label is given.
Our school was identified for: ‘Has Not Been Given One of These Labels’.
Gladys Dillon Elementary has put initiatives in place to increase attendance and improve achievement while closing academic gaps for identified subgroups. To improve attendance, Gladys Dillon Elementary is implementing the following initiatives:
· Prizes/incentives distributed to students with perfect attendance
· Awards/incentives for classrooms with perfect attendance
· Weekly attendance calls and letters home to parents of students whose children are frequently absent
· Attendance mediations with parents to develop attendance plans for students who are frequently absent
As attendance percentages decline, student achievement increases as more students are at school daily to receive necessary instruction. Ultimately, over time, this aids in closing the achievement gap.
In the area of improving achievement and closing academic gaps for identified subgroups, Gladys Dillon is continuously working to improve identified areas of weakness. To support this, we provide:
· Interventions for the lowest performing students in ELA and Mathematics
· Current curriculum incorporating targeted small group instruction with a focus on differentiated learning based on skills
· Reteaching
· Instructional coaching for teachers to support curricular mastery
· PLC’s utilizing data analysis to support instructional planning and growth
· Targeted, differentiated instruction
· Computer programs targeted toward individual needs in both reading and math
· Analyzed assessments guiding instructional needs of students
· Targeted intervention for students with IRIP’s
State law requires that we also report additional information.
- Students that live within the designated school boundaries attend Gladys Dillon Elementary School. Additionally, parents may complete forms for our Internal Schools of Choice Application if they reside within the Carman-Ainsworth Schools district boundaries. For families who are not residents of Carman-Ainsworth Community Schools, they may apply through the district’s Schools of Choice program.
- Gladys Dillon is committed to continuous school improvement. Gladys Dillon has established school wide improvement goals through the MICIP process based on identified student needs. Specific strategies for each grade level have been identified based on researched best practices to address these goals. Activities, strategies, and assessments are being implemented daily to support and increase student achievement during the 2025-2026 school year.
- Gladys Dillon Elementary has a highly qualified team of teachers that actively pursues educational excellence for all students. Our teachers work together as a Professional Learning Community (PLC) to continuously support our students’ achievement and academic growth.
- Curriculum is developed and implemented daily based on the Common Core Standards. Information regarding the core curriculum is contained in grade level pacing guides and teacher provided parent information packets which are available at Dillon Elementary and at the Carman Ainsworth administrative office.
